Rae Smith’s work for the National includes: This House, The Veil, Season’s Greetings, Or You Could Kiss Me, All’s Well That Ends Well, War Horse, (Tony and Olivier Awards for Best Set Design), Saint Joan, The Seafarer (also Broadway), Pillars of the Community, Theatre of Blood, Closing Time, The Visit and The Street of Crocodiles. Other work includes Wagner’s Ring Cycle (Grand Prix 2011 for Outstanding Achievement in Opera) at Opéra du Rhin, Strasbourg; Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic; Cavelieri Rusticano and Pagliacchi at the Met NY; Benvenuto Cellini at the ENO; The Tempest and Prince of the Pagodas for Birmingham Royal Ballet and The Rite of Spring and Petruska for Fabulous Beast.
